SEASIDE - Administrators for the three Seaside School District elementary schools have scheduled kindergarten round-ups as follows: Tuesday, 2:45 to 3:45 p.m., Cannon Beach Elementary School, 268 Beaver St.; Wednesday, 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., Seaside Heights Elementary School, 2000 Spruce Drive; and Thursday, 2:45 to 3:45 p.m., Gearhart Elementary School, 1002 Pacific Way.

All parents with children turning five prior to Sept. 1 should attend.

School boundaries are changing for 2010-11. Those living south of the northern-most exit to Cannon Beach should attend the kindergarten round-up at Cannon Beach. Parents residing between Ninth Avenue in Seaside and the northern-most exit for Cannon Beach, on U.S. Highway 26 west of Saddle Mountain Road, on Hamlet Road or on Oregon Highway 53 north of the Tillamook County line, should attend the round-up at Seaside Heights. Those who live on Ninth Avenue in Seaside, or north of it, should attend the Gearhart School round-up.

Parents will meet the school principal, kindergarten teachers and hear from the nurse and school counselor. A representative from the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will explain the organization's goals. There will be activities for the incoming kindergarten students, which includes a tour of the school, a visit to the library and gymnasium as well as time in the kindergarten classroom.

Parents need to bring their child's birth certificate, or other proof of birth date, and immunization record to the round-up.
