SEASIDE - Gary Diebolt ,owner of Flashback and The Jewelry Box in downtown Seaside, and Cheryle Barker, a volunteer who leads the downtown flower baskets program and serves as a Seaside Chamber of Commerce ambassador, have received the "Downtown Sparkplug" awards given by the Oregon Downtown Development Association.

Both honorees were nominated by the Seaside Downtown Development Association, Diebolt for coordinating the Muscle Beach Cruz, BikeFest and Wheels to Waves events that brings visitors to Seaside and Barker for her efforts in coordinating the flower baskets beautification project from Memorial Day through September.

They will be honored by the state downtown group May 12 in Canby.
