YAMHILL - The Seaside and Yamhill-Carlton boys soccer teams traded penalty kicks Thursday afternoon, for a 1-1 tie on Yamhill's home field.

The Tigers' Greg Slater converted a penalty kick in the first half, when a Seaside player grabbed the shirt of a Yamhill player in the penalty area.

Despite controlling possession for most of the game, the Gulls did not score until the 79th minute, when a Tigers' player was called for a handball in the box.

Chris Senick scored the penalty kick for the Gulls, now 2-2-2 in league play.

Girls Soccer: Valley Catholic 5, Seaside 0BEAVERTON - Valley Catholic had five goals from five different players Thursday, in a 5-0 District 1 girls soccer win over Seaside.

The Valiants scored first half goals in the 12th minute (Meghan Blood) and 21st minute (Kate Emery) for a 2-0 halftime edge.

Chelsea Lambert scored 30 seconds into the second half, followed by goals from Megan Gabourel in the 53rd minute and Lacey Krebs with three minutes left.
