"Tsunamis: A Common Sense Approach" is the title of a new presentation developed by the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office.

Speakers are available to give the PowerPoint presentation to schools, service or fraternal groups, churches and other interested organizations, Sheriff Tom Bergin said. The presentation covers a broad spectrum of information about tsunamis, including issues such as wave speed and height, an earthquake in the Cascadia subduction zone, where to go and what to do in the event of a tsunami or warning.

"The idea is to give people a better understanding of what could happen here and some practical things to think about," Bergin said.

Emergency Management Coordinator Gene Strong created the presentation with Bergin and other sheriff's employees.
