SEAVIEW, Wash. - The Shoalwater Restaurant at The Shelburne Inn recently received its fifth consecutive award for Outstanding Northwest Wine List in the annual competition sponsored by Northwest Wine Press magazine.

The Shoalwater shares this year's award with Raincity Grill in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. According to reporter Eric Degerman, The Shoalwater's "dazzling list is dominated by Columbia Valley and Willamette Valley appellations ... and shows a keen sense of value."

Shoalwater co-owner Tony Kischner said, "Once again, considering the increasingly crowded field of restaurants in the region - with much deeper pockets than ours - that focus on the exceptional wines of the Pacific Northwest, it is very gratifying that our ongoing effort to represent the best we have to offer continues to be recognized."

The Shoalwater Restaurant offers more than 400 wines by the bottle and 25 by the glass, more than 75 percent of which are from Washington and Oregon. As part of its commitment to regional wines, The Shoalwater has offered a monthly Northwest winemaker's dinner series October through May every year since 1987.
