PORTLAND - ShoreBank Pacific, the Pacific Northwest bank that pioneered the sustainable banking movement, named an on-staff sustainability officer to assist bank clients in adopting sustainable economic, social and environmental practices. The bank also appointed two new loan officers to its team.

Lucy Brehm, vice president, and five-year veteran with ShoreBank Pacific, assumes the sustainability officer position. Previously, Brehm was the national accounts and marketing manager for the bank. She now works in conjunction with the bank's science and lending staff to help bank clients implement sustainable business practices.

She will work with Washington and Oregon coastal clients from the Portland office of ShoreBank.

"By creating a sustainability officer position, we're showing that we're serious about our own accountability as well as our commitment to helping clients adopt business practices that contribute to the health and vitality of the region," said David Williams, ShoreBank Pacific CEO and president.

Other new employees are Bonnie Anderson and Bruce Hamilton, who bring housing and business experience to the Portland office.
