SEASIDE _ The Seaside High School girls golf team wrapped up competition May 8 by winning the District 1 championship for the second straight year.

The team is also the Oregon Dairy Farmers GPA 4A state Champions.

Katie Kawasoe was district champion. She shot an 85 on May 7 and a 77 May 8.

Ashley Bassett finished second, Kathy Lin sixth, Emma Hassan seventh and Boa-Tran Nahn ninth.

The SHS team heads to the state tournament play May 14-15 at Eagle Crest Resort.

The SHS boys golf team placed second in District competition. Scappoose claimed the title, with Tillamook third, Banks fourth and Astoria in fifth place.
