The Astoria High School football coaching staff will be conducting a four-day camp Aug. 5-8. There will be three separate camps for students entering the third through eighth grades in the 2002-03 school year.

The morning session (9:30 to 11:30 a.m.) will be for third and fourth graders; an afternoon session (1 to 3 p.m.) for fifth and sixth graders; and an evening session (3:30 to 5:30 p.m.) for seventh and eighth graders.

All sessions are held at John Warren Stadium. Pre-registration is preferred.

The cost for each camp is $40. Camp instruction will include, but not be limited to, individual technique of all offensive, defensive and special teams positions; nutritional training; off-season and in-season training; and the importance of goal-setting and team building.

If pre-registration is not possible, campers may register the day of the camp at John Warren Stadium 30 minutes prior to the designated start time.

Campers should wear a cloth shirt and T-shirt, and preferably a cleated pair of shoes. For more information, contact Astoria coach Howard Rub at 791-5644, or via e-mail at Students who may have a financial hardship should contact Rub.
