CANNON BEACH - Cannon Beach police have released a composite drawing of a man who robbed the Bank of Astoria, 107 Sunset Blvd., on April 7.

Armed with a handgun, the man entered the bank at about 9:06 a.m., demanded money and left the bank on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man reportedly was seen just before the bank robbery and is described as being 5 feet, 10-inches tall, medium build, in his mid-20s to early 30s, baby-faced with a light-colored, thin moustache and a partial goatee. The man's hair was sandy blond.

A description released earlier indicated the man was wearing sunglasses, stocking cap and a clear rain poncho over a white sweatshirt with a hood. He was said at that time to be about 5 feet 5 inches tall.

Police said it was possible that a getaway car may have been parked on Sunset Boulevard east of the U.S. Highway 101 overpass.

Anyone seeing the described man or having information about the incident is asked to contact Lt. Rob Schulz, of the Cannon Beach Police Department, (503) 436-2811.
