SEASIDE - Seaside police responded to 75 calls for service during the opening weekend of spring break, said Seaside Police Chief Bob Gross.

Among those calls were three underage drinking parties, resulting in 29 citations for alcohol possession and consumption. One person was arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors.

Five people were arrested for third-degree theft involving shoplifting, three on warrants, one for criminal mischief after attempting to steal two street signs, two for noncriminal detoxification, one for resisting arrest, one for third-degree escape after fleeing an underage party and two for disorderly conduct.

"Activities for the weekend were comparable to those we encounter during a summer weekend," Gross said.
