WARRENTON - The public is invited to participate in a suicide prevention and awareness walk Saturday, starting at Coffenbury Lake, Shelter A. Registration starts at 3:15 p.m., and the walk begins at 3:30 p.m. There is a $3 parking fee.

The purpose of the event, which is Shawna Hatchell's senior project, is to remember a loved one or help support suicide prevention on "National Survivors of Suicide Day." The length of the walk will be determined by the weather and daylight.

There will be information available about suicide prevention, a candlelight memorial and a barbecue concluding the event. All donations will be given to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
