SEASIDE - Northwest Women's Surf Camps (NWWSC) announces new formats in their custom camp experience including Girlfriend Getaways, Special Day Events and a week-long Surf Retreat.

The Girlfriend Getaway Custom Day Surf Camp is a one- or two-day experience. Groups of four to 12 women camp in this format, with transportation between Seaside and the beach, all wetsuit and surfing equipment (including Gath surf helmets), morning beach yoga, beach-board-ocean safety, hours of on-land and in-water surf instruction, catered organic lunch, a NWWSC T-shirt and gift bag with discounts, information and goodies. Camp pricing is adjusted for the number of women attending and a choice of one or two days.

Girlfriend Getaway Weekenders are an optional way to extend the learning experience over a weekend with two full days of Day Surf Camps plus overnight accommodation provided by Seaside International Hostel. A NWWSC zippered hooded sweatshirt and gift bag are souvenirs for all Weekender students. Visit www.nwwomenssurfcamps.com for pricing of these packages.

NWWSC presents an opportunity for girls ages 13 to 19 to experience a one-day custom camp adventure at the "All Teen Girl Day Camp" Saturday, July 28. The camp utilizes the "40 Assets Community Goals for Youth Development" to empower the students with skills and tools that go beyond the basics of surfing. The day will be filled with fun and adventure on the beach with yoga and board-beach-ocean safety rules, and in the water with coaching by NWWSC's surf instructors. Special lunch break guest will be Peter Stauffer, Surfrider Foundation's Oregon Policy Coordinator, who will present a talk about Northwest beach ecology. A "youth inspired" catered organic lunch with beverages will be provided.

Advanced beginner to intermediate swimming skills are required. Transportation between Seaside and the beach, all surfing and wetsuit equipment (including Gath surf helmets) and all yoga and surf instruction are included. A NWWSC T-shirt and gift bag with goodies especially for teenage girls are souvenirs to all teen participants. This event is limited to 12 girls. Cost is $199 if preregistered and $225 if payment and registration are received less than 14 days prior to the event.

NWWSC celebrates the special bond between mothers and daughters with the "Special Camp Event for Mothers and Daughters" Saturday, Aug. 4. This day will provide an opportunity to learn and experience surfing together in an all-inclusive one-day custom camp adventure. Age requirement for girls has been lowered to 10 years. Advanced beginner to intermediate swimming skills are required of all participants. Women of all ages are invited to attend. Camp size is limited to 12 (six pairs of moms and daughters).

This special day camp event includes everything the one-day camp format does - all surf and yoga instruction, all surf and wetsuit equipment, catered organic lunch and beverages, transportation, a NWWSC T-shirt and gift bag. Cost is $199 if preregistered and $225 if payment and registration are received less than 14 days prior to the event.

NWWSC Week Surf Retreat on the scenic North Oregon Coast runs Aug. 19 to 24. Six days and five nights are filled with morning yoga, daily surf camps with personal instruction, catered organic meals, two hours of massage services over the week (different massage choices are offered), daily personal time for meditation, relaxation, rejuvenation and exploration and optional evening group activities.

The morning yoga and surf camps will be held at several locations over the week to provide students an in-depth and personal understanding of the diverse surfing conditions on Oregon's beaches. Highly qualified Certified Lifeguard Instructors will provide a safe, progressive and dynamic teaching environment, working with students to develop their skills at their pace. Lodging accommodations are provided by Seaside Vacation Homes.

Bus transportation daily from the beach house to the chosen beach location is provided by Seaside's Best Tours. Because of the close and convenient location of the lodging to the beach, Promenade and downtown, participants can park the car for the week and not have to go into busy summer traffic. Participants may want to bring a bicycle to enjoy rides about the area. An optional guided bicycle tour of Seaside and its popular Cove area will be offered one evening. There are also bicycle rental shops in the area.

All wetsuits, wetsuit parts, Gath surf helmets and surfboard equipment are included and will be "custom fitted" on the first day of the retreat. NWWSC also provides rescue tubes, a rescue surfboard and complete first aid kit at each day's camp, in case of an emergency. A NWWSC zippered hooded sweatshirt and gift bag of discounts, information and goodies are souvenirs of the week's retreat.

The retreat is open to 10 women participants this year. Advanced beginner to intermediate swimming skills are required. Register early to assure inclusion in this unique Oregon Women's Retreat. Cost is $1,795 per participant. For more information, to register and to pay online, visit www.nwwomenssurfcamps.com
