OCEAN PARK, Wash. - A 14-year-old Ocean Park girl is in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at a Portland hospital after being struck while she was walking near State Route 103 during Labor Day weekend. Her condition has been upgraded from critical to serious since she was first brought in on Saturday.

Elizabeth Blake was taken by Life-Flight to Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital in Portland after she was struck by a vehicle driven by Philip M. Burger, of Battle Ground, Wash., at 1:39 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of State Route 103 and U Street.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, Burger, 59, was southbound on highway 103 when his 1983 Chevrolet pickup truck struck Blake, who was crossing U Street. Burger was cited for negligent driving, State Patrol Trooper Glen Tyrrell said.
