The Daily Astorian has a new circulation manager.

"After a long search, we are pleased to hire Dan Sealy," said Steve Forrester, editor and publisher of The Daily Astorian. "He brings a wide background with managerial experience to this position."

Sealy is a longtime community member who most recently worked as a medical assistant for Angel Medical in Astoria. He was a police officer for the city of Seaside between 1996 and 2002, leaving with the rank of sergeant. His varied career has included spells as branch manager of United Finance Co. in Seaside. He also served as property manager for Clatsop Properties Inc. and general manager of Classic Designs Showcase in Astoria. He has been a paramedic with Medix Ambulance.

A certified locksmith, he also is a pilot and amateur radio enthusiast. He has served as a reserve police officer in Astoria and held leadership positions with Hammond Fire Department. He has been honored by the American Red Cross and the Clatsop County Emergency Medical Services Group.

"I am excited to be part of our community newspaper, and look forward to the new challenges this position has to offer," Sealy said.

He and his wife, Susan, live in Astoria and have two children.
