Charges have been filed against a third suspect in the Molalla basketball team sex abuse case.

Onisefer George Kutsev, 17, of Molalla is charged with first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and first-degree sex abuse.

Kutsev and two other members of the Molalla High School basketball team are accused of assaulting a fellow team member last December on a school bus in an apparent episode of hazing while the team was in Seaside during a basketball tournament.

John W. Berekoff, 18 and Joshua Paul Haqq, 16, also of Molalla, were taken into custody last week in Molalla and arraigned in Clatsop County Circuit Court on the same charges. All three are being tried as adults, and could face a minimum of eight years in prison if convicted.

Similar charges are pending against the three in Deschutes County, where two other incidents involving the same victim are alleged to have taken place while the team was visiting Sisters.

Kutsev was arrested last month and charged with violating parole from a 2004 sex abuse conviction. He was lodged at the Donald E. Long juvenile facility in Portland, but is due to be transported to Clatsop County this week.
