At 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, three people were injured, one of them seriously, in a two-vehicle accident at the Warrenton end of the Youngs Bay Bridge which resulted in the arrest of Dana M. Marteeny, 39, of 584 Rivington Ave., Astoria for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering and third-degree assault. According to Oregon State Police, Marteeny was illegally passing on the right shoulder as she drove her car north on the bridge, when the shoulder ended and she struck the guardrail. The impact spun her car out onto the roadway, causing another driver, Robert Debolt, 25, of Prescott, Wash., to swerve to avoid her. He lost control of his vehicle, which hit the guardrail on the other side of the bridge. Meanwhile, Marteeny's car continued spinning northward for more than 500 feet. Marteeny's passenger, Michael R. Long, 44, of the same address, sustained a serious head injury, OSP reported. All three people were taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital. Marteeny was cited and released. Long's condition today was fair.
