Thrifter's Marketplace has opened in the former J.C. Penney's store in mid-town St. Helens.

Owner Gregg Smith said the store, which opened April 23, sells refurbished kitchen appliances, as well as quality used furniture and housewares, and clothing for the whole family, as well as sporting equipment, CDs, books and imported gifts.

Smith, who formerly operated a similar store in Lincoln City, said he offers a 60-day non-conditional warranty on major appliances, as well as free delivery and hook-up.

Thrifter's Marketplace is located at 1914 Columbia Boulevard in St. Helens. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. The telephone number is (503) 397-9137.
