Tillamook - County Commissioners continue to seek applicants for the Futures Council.

So far, commissioners have only received one application for the advisory committee, which is charged with developing a long-range vision for the county based on input from area residents.

Applicants from all geographical areas of the county and the agriculture community are needed, said a county spokesman. Hispanic members of the community are especially encouraged to apply.

The council is comprised of 15 members, five from each geographic area.

The Board of Commissioners appoints members.

Appointees should be prepared to make a significant time commitment to this process, officials say.

Applications are available through the commissioners' office by calling (503) 842-3403.
