During an awards ceremony held Dec. 12, the Oregon State Sheriffs' Association honored the Sheriff of the Year, Tillamook County Sheriff Todd Anderson, pictured right.

Anderson was hired with the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office in January 1986. He served as a patrol deputy, detective, detective sergeant, patrol sergeant, and jail commander before being elected sheriff in 2000.

He is also the chair of the Tillamook Emergency Communications District and serves on the board for the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training and the Governor's Task Force on Mental Health. He serves on a large number of working committees on both the local and state level.
