Trail’s End Art Walk features Ellen Zimet

<p>"Mother's Bouquet," a watercolor by Ellen Zimet, will be among several works on display at Trail's End Art Gallery in Gearhart through June.</p>

Ellen Zimet will be the gallery presenter and demonstration artist at the Trail’s End Art Walk reception from 2 to 5 p.m. June 7 in the Trail’s End gallery, 656 A St., Gearhart.

Her show, “Strange and Whimsical Art,” will include watercolors and Zentangle-inspired art that creates images through patterns. She also works with a variety of mixed media.

During the reception, Zimet will discuss some of the techniques she uses to enhance her paintings. The show runs through June 29

She worked in fashion design, merchandising, teaching, grant writing and as an administrator in the Los Angeles Unified School District and finally as an educational consultant in California and neighboring states.

Now retired, she has studied with many different artists, but most influential in her development have been Jo Pomeroy-Crockett, Fealing Lin, Karlyn Holman and Gerald Brommer.

She is a member of the Associated Artists of the Inland Empire and the Chaffey Community Museum of Art in California. In Oregon, she is a member of the Trails End Art Association and the Palette Puddlers in Cannon Beach.
