CANNON BEACH — During an artist demonstration May 2 — the first day of the 14th annual Spring Unveiling Arts Festival — Shing Yin Khor, an L.A.-based sculpture artist, glues the pieces together for her diorama, the new home to one of her “beasts” named “Sea Banana.”

Together with her artistic partner Leslie Levings, the two sculptures created a menagerie of fantastical creatures for their demonstration and exhibition, “Dubious Beasts: Symbiosis,” at Cannon Beach’s Archimedes Gallery.

At Spring Unveiling 2014, the 13 galleries that form the Cannon Beach Gallery Group hosted artist receptions, exhibitions and demonstrations from across the spectrum of visual media.

The shows spotlight dozens of local, national and international artists with a Cannon Beach connection.
