The Astoria Music Festival and Academy's 2004 summer season begins July 5 and runs through July 25.

The educational part of the festival will be held at the Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center, with Arts and Ideas and the Continuing Education Department hosting the Discovery Series, a month of workshops, lectures and concerts.

Volunteers are needed to help with accommodation for festival and academy faculty, students and staff, do office tasks, help in the box office, take ticket stubs and serve as ushers.

People willing to provide housing for visiting musicians will be rewarded with a pass to all of the Discovery Series events and two tickets to "The Magic Flute" at the Liberty Theater in downtown Astoria July 23-24.

Contact housing coordinator, Katherine Mace, at (503) 338-2473, by e-mail to (kmace@clatsopcc.edu), or call CCC's Continuing Education department at 338-2408 for details.
