SEASIDE - Safe Kids USA and FedEx sponsored International Walk to School Day Oct. 7.  This opportunity was modified for the students of Seaside Heights Elementary School, thanks to the efforts of Tara Constantine, Safe Kids North Coast coordinator, and Officer Lorna Brandt of the Seaside Police Department. They were joined by Providence Seaside Hospital, the Sunset Empire Park and Recreation District, Seaside Fire Department, Medix and the Seaside Police Department.

Students and parents walked from school to the hospital, where a healthy snack and beverage were provided. The fire and police department and Medix had vehicles on display, and a brief talk about safety was given by fire and police officials. After the short break, the group walked to Broadway Park to play, or to the pool for free swim time. Twenty-five parent volunteers and 120 students were involved in the event.
