Beginning 11 p.m. tonight, motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes on the new Youngs Bay Bridge while crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation make repairs. The work is scheduled to last until 5 a.m. Saturday.

The drawbridge crew will adjust the span position limit switches on the bridge, which will be raised while the work takes place. The switches provide safety limits during the raising and lowering of the bridge.

According to ODOT, the work crews will attempt to limit the number of openings. Variable message boards will be located at both ends of the bridge to prepare motorists for extended openings and delays of up to 20 minutes.
