WARRENTON - The city will receive an estimated $26,000 in state revenue sharing funds during the upcoming fiscal year.
All state revenue sharing funds go to support the city's General Fund services, explained City Manager Scott Derickson. Under Oregon State Revenue Sharing Law, the city had to adopt an ordinance stating its intent to receive the aforementioned dollars, Derickson added. The city got $22,000 the year before.
Under ORS 221.770, a share of certain revenues from the state are distributed to all Oregon cities. Each city must hold a public hearing for citizens to recommend how the money should be used. Commissioners held that public hearing during its first June meeting.
