SEASIDE - The wave of county residents who attended the County-wide Emergency Preparedness Fair Wednesday was just what organizers were looking for.

According to Deb Treusdell, former Seaside Tsunami PREP coordinator, approximately 275 people attended the fair.

"We got great responses from everybody that attended," said Treusdell. "And the sessions were well attended."

She also took time to acknowledge the efforts of Roy Hackett and Terry Williams. Each worked on separate parts of the fair but Treusdell said they were equally important to the success of the fair. Williams organized the booths and Hackett researched what should be included in the cache barrels being stocked by the city.

Treusdell also said the fair helped open the lines of communication for cities all along the North Coast, with residents from as far south as Manzanita and as far north as Astoria making the trek to Seaside for the fair.

"It's unprecedented in Clatsop County to have all those people assembled under one roof," said Treusdell. "It's a good start. We're taking the Seaside program and spreading it throughout the county."
