DEBBIE LAKE wrote in for the ASTORIA ELKS LODGE that DAVID CURL'S TONGUE POINT JOB CORPS CENTER WELDING CLASS was looking for some "hands on" experience. "The sagging steel cover to the old freight elevator located in the sidewalk outside the Astoria Elks building was just what instructor Curl was looking for," Lake said.
"The class set up shop on the sidewalk, placing screens to protect the public. The class shored up and leveled the steel cover and welded it in place. The Astoria Elks would like to thank the TPJCC class for a job well done!"
