The Ear was trundling about town with trusty pooch Clancy when the sight of a magnificent TOPIARY HEDGE in the shape of a BOWPICKER, pictured, appeared before us. It is manicured to the nth degree, with very crisp, clean lines.

What was the inspiration - is the owner a former (or current) bowpicker owner, perhaps? How long has it been there, and how hard is it to keep it looking so tidy? Can anyone enlighten the Ear about the unusual hedge? If so, please call (503) 325-3211, ext. 257, or e-mail (ewilson@dailyastorian.com)
