William Vinciguerra, 78, of Warrenton, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, in Astoria.

He was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to William and Adline (Traccia) Vinciguerra. He attended Sellwood Grade School in Portland. In 1949, he graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School.

In 1950, he married Sarah Waggoner. They later divorced.

On Feb. 12, 1977, he married Corrine "Connie" Osterlund. She survives, residing in Warrenton.

Mr. Vinciguerra worked in Portland for Dick Niles Lincoln and at Mount Hood National Forest as a diesel mechanic. He retired in 1994.

He enjoyed volunteering, hunting, fishing, square dancing and bowling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Volda Jean Heikkila of Colton; two sons, Victor Vinciguerra of Snake River and Vernon Vinciguerra of Portland; three grandchildren, Melissa Heikkila, Shawn Heikkila of Oregon City and Heather Heikkila of Colton; a great-grandchild, Blake Heikkila of Colton; two sisters, Gloria Auker and Barbara Vinciguerra of Portland; and two stepsons, Mark Adams of Portland and Scott Adams of Seattle.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shalean Heikkila, and a sister.

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Seaside Christian Church.
