Area women who are interested in returning to school are invited to attend a free conference Saturday at Clatsop Community College. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is sponsored by the American Association of University Women of Astoria and Seaside and by Clatsop Community College and Foundation.

The WINGS (Women Interested in Going to School) conference, formerly called the Transitions Conference, provides information and inspiration to any woman thinking about finishing high school, getting a GED, or earning an Associate Degree or a four-year degree from an Oregon University. It also provides information about career options and planning, and updating job skills.

The conference is free of cost, and it includes lunch and childcare. Women who come will receive a waiver of certain Clatsop College fees, and a number of three-credit tuition vouchers will be available. Numerous door prizes have been donated by area businesses and individual women.

It is important to pre-register by calling (503) 338-2408. Registration is limited to 50 women and spaces fill quickly.
