Paul Underhill was the first driver for my car, The Silly Millimeter, 1957 2-Door Hardtop Chevrolet. Our very first race was at Puyallup Washington about 1967. Paul, myself, and the car were all new at drag racing. Paul made our first good hard pass and "it" broke; the rear-axel housing rotated in the spring u-bolts, busted the universal joints, bent the main shaft in the transmission and dumped a bunch of oil on the track. Paul and I have laughed about that dozens of times through the years. We've been friends for over 55 years. Paul's death will leave an unfillable hole in my life. I will certainly miss him.... Very sorry to heread of his passing! I knew Paul from a very young age! Gene, Paul''s father was one of my fathet''s best friends and hunting partners from the....way back 40's? I spent much time on the farm growing up! I remember meat wrapping times up there...not a girl''s favorite but loved visiting the boy's and family! My father and I were up there the August before my father passed!
