Douglas Howard Baum
Warrenton resident, 71Douglas "Doug" Howard Baum, 71, of Warrenton, died Friday, June 21, 2002, in Seaside.
Mr. Baum was born April 27, 1931, in Parley, Utah, to Leonard George and Edna Johnson Baum. He graduated from high school in Magna, Utah, and spent four years in the U.S. Navy before attending and graduating from the University of Utah.
He married Ruth Von Weller Nov. 16, 1956. She survives, living in Warrenton.
The couple moved to Warrenton when Mr. Baum retired in 1994. Family members say he enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing and sports.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Baum is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Ann and Jeffrey Spendlove of Clatskanie; his son, Douglas Michael Baum of Portland; his grandson and granddaughter, Andrew Phillip Spendlove and Elizabeth Hunter Spendlove of Clatskanie; a brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Joy Baum of Seaside; a sister, Maxine Brande of Provo, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At his request, no service will be held.
