Florence E. Belknap
Bar manager, 81Florence E. Belknap, 81, of Astoria, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, in Astoria.
Mrs. Belknap was born Feb. 13, 1923 to Robert and Marion Eck Erie in Allentown, Pa., to Robert and Marion Eck Erie.
Mrs. Belknap was raised in Pennsylvania. After high school, she married Rudy Staszek of Pennsylvania. He died in 1968.
The couple moved to Astoria. Mrs. Belknap was a fish filleter at the San Juan Cannery in Warrenton. The Belknaps lived in Hammond for 25 years.
After the death of her first husband, Mrs. Belknap moved to Astoria, and a few years later, she moved to Newport where she managed the Sand Bar Tavern.
She later married Robert Belknap in Newport. He preceded her in death in 1979.
After his death, Mrs. Belknap returned to Astoria. She was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Astoria and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Family members said she loved crocheting, crossword puzzles and cooking.
Mrs. Belknap is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert 'Bob' Sr. and Linda Staszek of Astoria; two sons and one companion, Michael Staszek and Sandra Marsch of Warrenton and Rudy Staszek of Roseburg; four grandchildren, Bobby Staszek of Tacoma, Wash., Kristin Staszek of San Diego, Selina Staszek of Siletz and Sally and her husband, Dan Chinn of Portland; three great-grandchildren, Erin and Billy Chinn and Latasha Vander Wall, all of Portland; two brothers, Ronnie and Bill Erie, both of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Joann Lee and Jean and Anna Erie, all of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Mrs. Belknap's request, no funeral will be held.
