Mary 'Jerry' Geraldine Broderick

Librarian aide, 67Mary "Jerry" Geraldine Broderick, 67, of Tualatin, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Tualatin.

Mrs. Broderick was born April 17, 1935, in Garibaldi, to William and Rebecca Lupro Gaither.

In 1957, she married Harold "Bud" Broderick of Hammond. He died in 1994.

Mrs. Broderick lived in various coastal towns as a child because of her father's U.S. Coast Guard career. In 1953, she graduated from Garibaldi High School. She then moved to Astoria and worked for the telephone company. In 1968, she moved to Tualatin and worked as a librarian aide for the Lake Oswego School District for more than 20 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed knitting and reading.

She is survived by two daughters, Laurie Ebner of Happy Valley and Melanie Broderick of Oregon City; a sister, Patty Jo Barnes of Stevenson, Wash.; a brother, Pat Broderick of East Hartland, Conn.; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Jeremy Ebner, both of Happy Valley.

Visitation is noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary in Astoria. Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary. Private interment is at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lower Columbia Hospice, in care of Hughes-Ransom Mortuary, 576 12th St., Astoria, OR 97103.
