David Douglas Brown, 51, of Astoria, died Friday, May 1, 2009, in Astoria.

He was born Sept. 30, 1957, in Seaside, to David Leroy and Alixe (Poore) Brown. His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Brown lived in Seattle for many years. He was the lead service technical adviser for Sutter Home and Hearth in Seattle.

Family members said he loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing and hiking. He was very involved in rock hunting, and made jewelry for family and friends.

He is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Mark Brown of Astoria and Dan and Misha Brown of Hammond; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Theresa Brown and Julie and Duce Brock, all of Astoria; two nephews, Vincent Brown and Nicholas Middleton of Astoria; and two nieces, Danielle Brown and Carley Middleton of Astoria.

A private family service will be held.
