Trygve Duoos

Astoria resident, 88Trygve Duoos, 88, of Astoria, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, in Astoria.

Mr. Duoos was born Jan. 22, 1914, in Astoria, to Albert and Ragna Schroeder Duoos.

In 1944, he married Aini Tihila. She died in 2001.

Mr. Duoos served in the ocean going service of the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was a member of the Sons of Norway Scandinavian Lodge, Finnish Brotherhood, Astoria Yacht Club, Astoria Elks Lodge and Retired Federal Employees. He served two terms as international treasurer of the Sons of Norway.

He is survived by three sisters, Evelyn Lustig of San Diego, Dorothy Winters of Seattle and Elaine Boone of Corvallis; a nephew, Terry Duoos of Astoria; six nieces, Elaine Winters of Seattle, Rebecca Duoos Bourgazas and Jennifer Duoos, both of Portland, Toni McBride of Savanna, Ga., and Denise Lustig and Laverne Chindlund, both of San Diego; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

At Mr. Duoos' request, no service will be held.
