June Abby Finley

Long Beach resident, 95June Abby Finley, 95, of Long Beach, Wash., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in Longview, Wash.

Mrs. Finley was born June 4, 1907, to pioneer Long Beach Peninsula residents Adolph and Hannah Jacobson Bostrom.

After attending peninsula schools, Mrs. Finely lived around Washington, in Portland, St. Louis, Mo, Alaska, California and Arizona. She worked as a grocery clerk. She returned to Long Beach in 1995 to be near her family. She was a member of the Unity Church of Portland and enjoyed oil painting and traveling and her grandchildren. Family members say she will be remembered as unique and independent-spirited.

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Davis of Longview and Barbara Pearl of Long Beach; two sons, Charles Fisher of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Phillip "Bud" Finley of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Nona Thrower of Portland; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Four brothers and three sisters died earlier.

At Mrs. Finley's request, no service will be held.
