Gregory Alan "Greg" Prestenbach Sr., 51, of Nehalem, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, in Nehalem.
He was born Nov. 25, 1957, in Junction City, Kan., to Roy and Patsy (Slaughter) Prestenbach. His father survives, residing in La Rouge, La. His mother preceded him in death.
In 1976, he graduated from Roseburg High School.
In his early years, Mr. Prestenbach delivered newspapers for the News Review in Roseburg. He also worked as a cook at Casey's Restaurant. After relocating to Seaside in 1977, he worked at the Pig 'n Pancake. He was later hired by Rob's Restaurant as the head cook, where he was employed for many years. He also cooked at The Sand Trap restaurant in Gearhart and worked at the Seaside Arcade. He also dealt with antiques, and owned Triple AAA Metals Antique & Baseball Card Shop in Seaside. He moved to Nehalem in 1990.
He is survived by his companion, Nancy Espinosa of Salem; five children, Greg Prestenbach Jr. of Lebanon, Katie Prestenbach Rogers, Roy Prestenbach and Jo'lynn Espinosa, all of Salem, and Ginny Espinosa of Eugene; a sister, Linda Prestenbach of Salem; two aunts, Virginia Hebert and Loree Munoz; and seven grandchildren, Stephen Adkins, Grey and Daniel Prestenbach, Darlene, Daphne and Darci Rogers and Cedar Espinosa Suek.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Nehalem American Legion Cemetery.
A memorial will be held immediately following the service at Lee's Manor, 36520 Highway 101 N. in Nehalem
Waud's Funeral home in Tillamook is in charge of the arrangements.
