Carmelita Antoine Grimmett

Astoria native, 59Carmelita Antoine Grimmett, 59, of Long Beach, Wash., died Sunday, Aug. 8 in Long Beach.

Ms. Grimmett was born in Astoria Jan. 16, 1945 to Richard Williams and Bernice Coffey. She grew up in Astoria and attended Clatsop Community College, graduating in 1988. She was employed at Naselle Youth Camp.

Ms. Grimmett is survived by two sons, James Grimmett Jr. of Astoria and Richard Grimmett of Portland; a daughter, Charmagne Bugg of Longview, Wash.; two sisters, Kathy Beemer of Astoria and Lori Arthur of Wasco; two uncles, William Coffey of Warrenton and David Coffey of Astoria; and fiance Gil Guzman of Long Beach, Wash.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest Cancer Foundation or Long Beach Hospice.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Fellowship, 24109 U Street in Ocean Park, Wash.
