Mr. Heuston was born Oct. 11, 1936 in Waterville, Wash., to Deloss and Ida Waldo Heuston. He was raised in Waterville and Spokane, Wash.
On July 9, 1960 he married Gayle Smith in Spokane. She survives, living in Seaside.
Mr. Heuston started working for Albertson's Grocery Store in 1952, when he was 16. He left as a manager in 1962 to work for the Frito Lay Company. He was a member of Valley Alliance Church, the Spokane Country Club and Spokane Lilac Association, chairman of the Spokane Development Council and president of the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Family members say his greatest accomplishment was the example he set as a faithful servant who glorified God. He liked to spend time in his rose garden and work on home-improvement projects, and enjoyed sailing, kayaking, spending time with family and friends, traveling, learning and making the perfect giant bowl of popcorn.
