Idamae H. Forney, 81, of Warrenton, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at home in Warrenton.
She was born to William C. and Annie D. (Doig) Haglund April 15, 1925, in Ivy.
Mrs. Forney attended school in the Knappa-Svensen area, and graduated in 1943.
She married Norman R. Forney in 1948. He survives, living in Warrenton.
Following her graduation from high school, she worked at the U.S. Naval Air Station at Tongue Point. After World War II, she worked for the Bureau of Ships at Tongue Point as an assistant purchasing agent, until she left to raise her family. She returned to work at the Clatsop County Health Department as business manager, retiring after 17 years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Forney is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Willi Anne and Michael Bechtolt of West Linn; a son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Vicki Forney Jr. of Warrenton; four grand-daughters, Kim Zweibohmer and Erin Bechtolt of West Linn, Jenny Forney of Knappa and Lindsey Greenwald and her husband, Scooby, of Warrenton; a grandson, Andy Forney of Warrenton; three great-grandchildren, Parker Greenwald of Warrenton and Olivia and Riley Bechtolt of West Linn; a sister, Dorothy Labiske of Astoria; and a brother, Chuck Haglund of Svensen.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Duncan.
At Mrs. Forney's request, there will be no service.
