Alma Marie Julin
Retail sales clerk, 76Alma Marie Julin, 76, of Prineville, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 in Prineville.
Mrs. Julin was born Nov. 26, 1927 in Astoria to Konrad and Anna Tidslevold Helmersen. She was raised in Astoria and graduated from Astoria High School in 1946.
On Oct. 16, 1948, she married Ragnar A. W. Julin in Astoria. He died June 30, 2003.
Mrs. Julin was a homemaker and devoted mother and wife, family members said. Before her children were born, she worked in retail sales for Gunderson's Five and Dime and Jerome's Clothing Store. After her daughters started junior high school, she went back to work as a sales clerk at Young World, a children's clothing store.
Her hobbies included baking and shopping. Family members said she loved taking care of her grandchildren and her elderly parents. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and Alpha Iota Sorority.
Mrs. Julin is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Rob Aichele of Portland and Linda and Mike O'Bryan of Astoria; two grandchildren, Hilary O'Bryan of Astoria and Troy O'Bryan of Beaverton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mervyn and Kathy Helmersen and David and Nancy Helmersen, all of Astoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary. A reception will follow at Bethany Lutheran Church, 451 34th St., Astoria.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
