Martha E. Anderson, 93, of Portland, formerly of Astoria, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in Portland.

She was born Dec. 2, 1913, in Astoria, to Kaleb Sunell and Maria Louisa Makela Sunell. She attended schools in Olney.

She worked at the Bumble Bee Seafood Cannery for a time. She was a homemaker most of her life.

She married Ray Arthur Anderson on March 17, 1938, in Kelso, Wash. Mrs. Anderson's hobby was playing the organ.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Alice Anderson of Portland; a son-in-law, Michael Ramsdell of Astoria; five grandchildren, Daniel Anderson of Klamath Falls, Cindy Pardue of Estacada, Dean Anderson of Damascus, Julie LuCore and her husband, Melton, of Astoria, Rebecca Hanna and her husband, Scott, of Warrenton; seven great-grandchildren, Keifer, Kyle and Jared LuCore of Astoria, Madyson and Allyson Hanna of Warrenton, and Jacob and Chelsey Pardue of Estacada, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1968, and her daughter, Sandra L. Ramsdell, in 2002.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 8, at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary.

A Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary. Vault interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Astoria.

Memorial contributions may be given to Lower Columbia Hospice, in care of Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave., Astoria, OR 97103.
