Wayne L. McDonald

Truck Driver, 87Wayne L. McDonald, 87, of Warrenton, died, Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004 in Warrenton.

Mr. McDonald was born July 28, 1927 in Pima, Ariz., to Leanard H. & Sharlotte (Doge) McDonald.

He was raised in Southern California.

On July 13, 1940, Mr. McDonald married Ruby Young in Bakersfield, Calif. She died in August 2002.

In 1943, the family moved to Pleasanton, Calif., where Mr. McDonald worked as a truck driver for Orange County until his retirement in 1976. They moved to Seaside in 1992 and to Warrenton three years ago.

Mr. McDonald is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Vern Logsdon of Warrenton; one sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Tony Cavestri of Pleasanton, Calif.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Anna McDonald of Bakersfield and Len and Vickie McDonald of Victorville, Calif.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Laurie and Mark Forbes of Tualatin and Leslie and David Haskell of Astoria; one grandson and his wife, Tony and Mia Katzdorn of San Marcos, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Forbes of Tualatin, Shelby and Bailey Haskell of Astoria and Dane Katzdorn of San Marcos.

In addition to his wife, Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by a daughter, LaWayne McDonald Katzdorn in 1976.

By his request, no public funeral will be held. Private interment will be in Pleasanton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
