Faye E. Olson

Astoria resident, 80Faye E. Olson, 80, of Astoria, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in Astoria.

Mrs. Olson was born to William and Laura Haight Ridderbush July 5, 1924, in Jewell.

Mrs. Olson married Alvin Olson July 11, 1941, in Kelso, Wash. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Olson was a charter member of Lewis & Clark Bible Church in Astoria, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. Family members said she won ribbons at the county fair for crocheting and loved sewing and painting.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Joanne Olson of Astoria, Sharynn Bohrer of Astoria and Lori and Tim Isom of Port Orchard, Wash.; two sons, John and Steve Olson of Astoria; 10 grandchildren, Patty Olson of Astoria, Joseph, Treavor and Julia Isom of Port Orchard, Sabrina Ridgeway of Portland, Dennis and Jeanne Hansen of Astoria, Kimberly Bohrer of Fort Bragg, Calif., and Randy and Lisa Bohrer of Astoria; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mrs. Olson in death were her daughter, Linda Faye Olson, and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary in Astoria.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lewis and Clark Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Lewis & Clark Bible Church. Committal will be at Lewis and Clark Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis & Clark Bible Church, in care of Hughes-Ransom Cremation & Mortuaries in Astoria.
