James Richard 'Jim' Patton

Business owner, 45James Richard "Jim" Patton, 45, of Astoria and Seaside, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004 in St. George, Utah.

Mr. Patton was born March 9, 1959 in National City, Calif., to Ruth Ann (Cromer) and James Eber Patton. His parents survive, living in San Diego and Borrego Springs, Calif.

He came to Clatsop County in 1990 and owned Choice Drywall where he was last working on the Restoration House in Seaside.

Mr. Patton enjoyed sunshine and the outdoors, especially fishing and outdoor cooking.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Patton is survived by a son, Justin Michael Thebeau of Bluffdale, Utah; five sisters, Laura Thebeau of Bluffdale, Patty Ferrier of Louisiana, Lisa Blurchett of Phoenix, Ariz., Cheryl Polachecki of Winenca, Minn., and Melissa Branton of Astoria; a brother, Danny Patton of Delores, Colo.; many aunts, uncles and cousins; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Marcia Harper and Renee Hellberg.

Mr. Patton was preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Ruth Cromer and Eber and Sally Patton; and an aunt.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Adventure Four Square Church, 352 W. 12300, Suite 100, in Draper, Utah.

A memorial will be held in Seaside later.
