Paul L. Lindstrom, 87, of Pasco, Wash., formerly of Naselle, Wash., died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, in Pasco.

He was born Sept. 6, 1921, in Aberdeen, Wash., to John and Alma (Roos) Lindstrom. When he was 3 years old, the family moved to Naselle, where he completed his elementary education. 

He attended Auburn Adventist Academy and graduated in 1947. He attended Walla Walla College in College Place, Wash., graduating in 1956. He studied business and theology, and was ordained as a gospel minister in 1967.  

Pastor Lindstrom was chief accountant and treasurer of Portland Sanitarium and Hospital, assistant secretary-treasurer of North Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, assistant auditor of NPUC of SDA, administrator and pastor of Hospital Church in Ile Ife, Nigeria, secretary-treasurer of Ghana Conference of SDA, secretary-treasurer of Nigerian Union of SDA, manager of Montana Conference ABC and trust director, stewardship director and auditor of the Montana Conference of SDA. While in the Walla Walla, Wash. area from 1977-1983, he served as trust officer of the Upper Columbia Conference of SDA. He retired in May 1983, and lived in Nordland, Wash., then moved to Paradise, Calif. In 1998, he moved to Pasco.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepson, Len Burns and his wife, Hazel, of Pasco; a stepdaughter, Teresa Myers and her husband, Doug, of Myrtle Creek; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Naselle Assembly of God Church, 278 Knappton Road in Naselle. Inurnment will take place in Naselle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bangla Hope, P.O. Box 6853, Kennewick, WA 99336 to help build an orphanage in Bangladesh.
