April Christine Poplar

Seaside resident, 40April Christine Poplar, 40, of Seaside, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in Seaside.

Ms. Poplar was born Dec. 16, 1963, in New York City, and was raised and educated there. When she was 19 years old, she moved to Vancouver, Wash. She moved to Seaside in 1993 and worked as a housekeeper for the Hillcrest Inn.

Friends said Ms. Poplar enjoyed clam digging, gardening, decorating and cooking and was a generous person who particularly enjoyed using her talents in arts and crafts to make gifts for her friends and loved ones. They said she was hardworking and everyone enjoyed her good sense of humor. She was a Christian and loved by many, friends said, and she is gone but not forgotten.

A memorial service is 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bob Chisholm Community Center, 1225 Avenue A, Seaside. Hughes-Ransom Cremation and Mortuaries in Seaside is in charge of arrangements.
