Ramona L. Barkemeyer, 45, of Hammond, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, in Hammond.

She was born Oct. 13, 1961, in Cottage Grove, to Kenneth D. and Sandra M. (Cranmer) Mathis. Her father survives, residing in Cottage Grove. Her mother preceded her in death.

On Aug. 11, 1984, she married Steven S. Barkemeyer. He survives, residing in Hammond.

The Barkemeyer family moved to Clatsop County from Toledo in 2004. Mrs. Barkemeyer was employed as a house cleaner.

She was a member of the Philadelphia Christian Church in Hammond.

Family members said she enjoyed being around other people.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Savannah Barkemeyer of Hammond; a son, Eric Barkemeyer of Hammond; and a sister, Veronica Nowak of Cottage Grove.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dorena Grange in Cottage Grove.

A second celebration of life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Philadelphia Christian Church in Hammond.
