Robert D. "Bobby" Amell, 32, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Astoria, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, in Vancouver.
He was born March 17, 1976, in Los Angeles, to David R. Amell and Dalad Hilton. His mother and stepfather, Art Hilton, survive, residing in Astoria. His father preceded him in death.
Mr. Amell's family relocated to Astoria in 1983. He attended and graduated from Astoria High School in 1994.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1998 to 2001.
Mr. Amell was employed at Stereo King in Gresham as the assistant sales manager.
Family members said he enjoyed spending time with his dog, brother, family and friends.
In addition to his mother and stepfather he is survived by a brother, Paul Polratana of Beaverton; two stepbrothers, Tim and Tom Hilton of Springfield; a stepsister, Sandi Hilton of Astoria; two aunts, Susan French and Brenda Davidian of Diamond Bar, Calif.; an uncle, Larry Amell of San Diego; and six cousins, Vicki French of Pomona, Calif., Vince French of Lakewood, Calif., Debra Scott of Chino Hills, Calif., Mary French of Diamond Bar, Charlie Davidian of Phoenix, Ariz., and Arlette Davidian of Mission Viejo, Calif.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Alisa Polratana; a grandmother, Avis Logobodi; and a grandfather, Bob Amell.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Ave., in Astoria. A reception will follow at Baked Alaska, No. 1 12th St.
Private interment will take place at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
